Rui Spinola has resigned as Director of the SCFC Academy. Unfortunately, Rui’s decision to resign was at short notice.
Our staff have reacted very quickly and we are pleased to advise that Ben Cahn has accepted the position of Academy Director and he will join with Paul Arnison, and of course, our Technical Director of Coaching, Kevin A’herne-Evans, in delivering the Academy Program.
Ben Cahn holds an FFA B Licence and is well respected for his coaching abilities. He is currently the coach of the U14 boys NPL squad.
Paul Arnison is the current coach of the Fire’s under 18 team and has been involved on a part-time basis with delivering Football Queensland’s IGA Program in schools. Paul holds an English FA level two coaching certificate and has a strong history as a professional footballer in the United Kingdom playing for football clubs such as Newcastle United FC.
Kevin A’herne-Evans, our full time Technical Director of Coaching and First Team coach, holds a UAEFA ‘B’ Senior and UEFA ‘B’ Junior licence, and will also have a greater role in the direct delivery of the Academy program.
We are very confident that the coaches involved in delivering the Academy Program will ensure that Sunshine Coast FC offers the best pathway for the development and identification of talented footballers on the Sunshine Coast. Parents and players will be advised of any training changes as soon as possible. We thank you again for your support of our Academy.
